Overview
King Stropharia (AKA Wine Caps, Garden Giant) is a fairly common mushroom to be found in cultivated and disturbed environments, but not so much in a wild setting.
Any landscape that is mulched with wood debris is a great place for this mushroom to live. If you're not lucky enough to have this excellent edible growing wildly, you can easily plant it by simply adding a layer of spawn underneath the mulch.
